Château La Comtesse de Loire & Spa

The chateau is beautiful, photos do not do it justice. It is more impressive in real life. The building, the staircase, the grounds, all are beautiful. The rooms are very spacious. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. An atmosphere of calm prevails throughout. Old beautiful with modern amenities such as a reliable lift and efficient air conditioning and we were there on some very hot days. The parking is secure behind a security gate right next to the chateau. You can have breakfast outside in the beautiful grounds which is a lovely start to the day. It is a 12 minute walk at a slow pace as it was so hot into the old town of Samaur which was also perfect. Very helpful and friendly staff.

A delightful small chateau within walking distance of Saumur Town centre. The owners and staff are extremely helpful and friendly, we were made to feel very welcome. Our bedroom was tastefully decorated, as were the main rooms in the chateau, in keeping with a property of this type. Our room had an air conditioning unit, and there is a lift in the property if needed. The gardens are large and peaceful, with a nice terraced area to sit with a drink in the evenings. The swimming pool is beautifully kept, a good size, and nicely private behind sceening hedging. We've stayed in Saumur a fair number of times in recent years, and in our opinion this is the best there is ! Thanks to the owners and staff for a great 4 night stay.

Best hotel I have ever stayed at. Beautiful rooms great location easy. Easy walking distance to the town. Great parking. Could not be better. Wonderful staff.

This is an elegant, very well-situated mansion, a short walk away from the center of town but in a quiet and private street. The owners have recently purchased the property and they are friendly and attentive. A delicious and very complete breakfast is served in a beautiful room, opening to a gorgeous garden. The room and bathroom are very big. There is an A/C unit in the room, which was a little loud, but cooled the room very efficiently. You can have a drink in the living/drawing room until 9 pm.

The actual building is beautiful. It is ornate with attention to detail on every wall ceiling and floor. The stained glass windows are breath taking. The gardens are well maintained and offered respite from the heat and were the perfect spot to share a bottle of bubbles. Highly recommend booking the spa for a couple of hours for a romantic night.
